The Team

Aurora Marcopoulos – Founder & Director of The CORA Project

With a background in human rights, I founded The CORA Project NPO which tackles period poverty in underprivileged communities.

I have always been extremely passionate about women’s health and women’s rights overall. Women’s health is a fundamental human right and is so important as it encompasses individual well-being as well as societal progress.

Cleo Marcopoulos Aitken – Co-founder & Director of The CORA Project

I am the co-founder of the fashion rental platform, Style Rotate, and creative agency, MOOD Creative Agency, with nearly a decade of experience in the fashion, media and PR industries.

I co-founded The CORA Project as I am passionate about empowering women and dedicated to creating opportunities for them to thrive!

Abigail de Waal Project Director & Creative Lead

I have always enjoyed volunteering and working with kids and young adults. During high school, I participated in the International Young People Award of Edinburgh. The program provided young people with invaluable experiences outside the classroom, fostering commitment, responsibility, and a sense of fulfillment as citizens in their community. The IAYP emphasises the recognition and value of non-academic learning experiences.

It was through this program that my journey in volunteering began. Ever since, I have enjoyed sharing my time and skills to contribute to something meaningful and I get real fulfillment out of it.

I enjoy doing the workshops with CORA especially. It’s a unique opportunity to connect, with young learners and share valuable information I wish I had known when I was younger.

Shingi West – Organisational Collaborations Consultant

As an Organizational Collaboration Consultant, I enhance business efficiency through process optimization and coaching. I am passionate about mental well-being and dedicated to finding solutions to societal issues.

Boitumelo Titus – Fundraising & Donor Relations Lead

I’m passionate about making a difference in the non-profit world! My journey began at Cheesekids for Humanity, where I got my hands dirty in project planning alongside Shaka Sisulu and Luvuyo Mandela.

Afterward, I brought my skills to Gracefully Consulting, diving into fundraising and strategy for NPOs across South Africa. Now, as the Fundraising and Donor Relations Officer at the CORA Project, I’m dedicated to creating positive change in communities.

My heart beats for the girl child, and I love leading our workshops here at CORA. With my energy and dedication, I’m committed to making a meaningful impact.
